What is UAN Login ?

UAN (Universal Account Number) Login is a system that allows employees to access their Employee Provident Fund (EPF) details online. Every employee contributing to the EPF is assigned a unique 12-digit number known as the UAN. This number is generated and provided by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), and its authenticity is verified by the Ministry of Labour and Employment of the Indian government.

The key benefit of the UAN is that it remains unchanged throughout an employee's career, even if they change jobs multiple times. Each time an employee changes their workplace, a new EPF Account ID is issued by the new employer and linked to the UAN. By providing the UAN to a new employer, employees can ensure that their new EPF Account ID is connected to the existing UAN. This way, all EPF contributions from different employers are consolidated under one UAN, making it easier to manage and track the employee's provident fund details.

Here are the steps to log in to your UAN portal:

• Visit the Official UAN Portal: Open your web browser and go to the official UAN portal website at https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/.
• Go to the Login Window: On the homepage, you will see the login section.
• Enter Your UAN Details: In the login section, enter your UAN number, password, and the captcha code displayed on the screen.
• Click on Sign In: Once you've entered the required information, click the Sign In button to access your registered UAN account.

After logging in, you can view and manage your EPF account details.

Steps to Generate UAN Login Password 

Here are the steps to generate or reset your UAN login password:

• Visit the Official UAN Portal: Open your web browser and go to the official UAN portal website at https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/.
• Click on "Forgot Password": On the homepage, locate and click the Forgot Password option.
• Enter UAN and Captcha: A new page will open. Enter your UAN number and the Captcha code displayed.
• Click on Submit: After entering the required details, click the Submit button.
• Verify Personal Details: On the next page, enter your name, date of birth, and gender, then click Verify.
• Enter Aadhaar Details: Enter your Aadhaar number and the Captcha code. Tick the box agreeing to the verification and click Submit.
• Aadhaar Verification: Your Aadhaar number will be verified. After that, enter your mobile number to receive an OTP.
• Consent for Authentication: Mark the consent checkbox stating, "I hereby consent to provide my biometric, Aadhaar number, and/or One Time Pin (OTP) data for Aadhaar-based authentication."
• Receive OTP: An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter this OTP, the Captcha code, and click Verify.
• Create a New Password: Once verified, you will be prompted to create a new password. Ensure your password has at least eight characters, including a capital letter, a number, and a special character. Confirm the new password.
• Password Successfully Reset: Your UAN login password will now be successfully modified. You can log in with the new password.

Here are the steps to find your UAN:

• Visit the Official UAN Portal: Open your web browser and go to the official UAN portal website at https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/.
• Click on "Know Your UAN": On the homepage, locate the Know Your UAN option under the Important Links tab and click on it.
• Enter Registered Mobile Number and Captcha: A new page will open. Enter your registered mobile number and the Captcha code displayed.
• Request OTP: After entering the details, click the Request OTP button.
• Verify OTP: An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP for verification.
• Click OK: After successful verification, click on the OK button.
• Enter Personal Details: On the next page, enter your name, date of birth, Aadhaar number, and the Captcha code.
• Show My UAN: Finally, click on the Show My UAN button, and your UAN will be displayed on the screen.

Steps to Activate UAN 

Here are the steps to activate your UAN:

• Visit the Official EPFO Website: Open your web browser and go to the official EPFO website at https://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_en/index.php.
• Go to the Services Tab: On the homepage, hover over or click on the Services tab, then click on For Employees.
• Click on Member UAN/Online Services: A new page will open. Under the Services section, click on Member UAN/Online Services.
• Click on Activate UAN: A new page will appear. Under the Important Links section, click on the Activate UAN option.
• Enter Required Details: A new page will open where you need to enter the following details:

1. UAN number or Member ID
2. Name
3. Aadhaar number
4. Mobile number
5. Date of birth
6. Captcha code

• Accept the Declaration: After entering the details, accept the declaration and click on the Get Authorization PIN button.
• Enter OTP: An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter the received OTP and click on the Validate OTP and Activate UAN option.
