The Higher Education Department of Assam has released the admission guidelines and schedule for the FYUGP, FYIMP, and FYIPGP programs for 2025 through the unified admission portal. To apply for various undergraduate programs such as BA, B.Sc., B.Com., B.Voc., and others at state universities and colleges in Assam, the Department of Higher Education has launched the Assam State Higher Education Admission Portal, also known as the SAMARTH Admission Portal. The SAMARTH UG Admission online registration process is now open. Students who have successfully completed the Higher Secondary (H.S.) Final exam must apply for admission through the SAMARTH website. SAMARTH Admission Portal 2025-26

The Assam Government's Higher Education Department has officially announced that applications for undergraduate admissions for the academic year 2024–2025 are now being accepted. The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) will release the High School Final Results on May 9, 2024. To apply for undergraduate programs, students must complete the online application process on the SAMARTH Admission Portal. The registration for online applications has already begun as of April 3, 2024.

To register for the Assam Samarth Portal in 2024, students can submit their undergraduate (UG) admission applications online through the SAMARTH admission portal. The registration process involves three essential stages that must be carefully completed:

The registration process is already live on the portal. After completing the registration and profile details, students can select up to ten colleges for their preferred admission. Based on the merit of the candidates, the respective colleges or universities will finalize the admission, and the selected students' names will be displayed on the SAMARTH portal.

The SAMARTH Admission Portal aims to provide equal access to candidates across the state, particularly those from rural and remote areas, by offering a centralized platform for Assam State Higher Education Admissions. By consolidating all admissions to Assam State Universities on a single platform, it ensures that a wide range of candidates can participate and benefit from this unified system.

• A Passport Size Photograph in JPG or JPEG format
• Identity Proof certificate such as (PRC, Voter ID, Aadhar, Cast Certificate, Birth Certificate, School ID or any other certificate issued by govt of Assam)

• Enter your name, date of birth, phone number, email address, and a unique password before clicking "Register".
• You will receive an OTP (One-Time Password) on your mobile device.
• Enter the OTP and the Captcha code, then click Send.
• After successful registration, you will receive a registration number.

After completing the registration process, follow these steps to fill in your SAMARTH profile information:

• Click on the login icon on the Samarth homepage.
• Enter your email address and password to log in.
• Select the option to "Complete Profile".
• Carefully fill in your address, phone number, and other required details.
• After entering the information, click on "Save and Next" to continue.
• Upload the necessary documents, such as your ID proof, photo, and signature, in the specified format and size.
• Once all the information is uploaded, carefully preview and review your profile.
• Finally, click on the declaration form, confirm your details, and lock your profile to finalize the process.

Make sure all information is accurate before locking your profile, as changes may not be allowed afterward.

Programme Selection (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com.)

Students can apply for various programmes after completing their profile submissions. There are six programmes available for selection. Applicants are required to indicate their preferences for the programmes they wish to pursue. These preferences will be forwarded to the respective Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs). Based on these preferences, universities and colleges will prepare merit lists in accordance with their specific entry guidelines. However, affiliated colleges have the freedom to create their own merit lists, following the relevant university regulations.

In the programme selection:

• Students must decide the programs they wish to apply to.
• Selective colleges like Gauhati University
• Select the university
• Choose the programmes that you want to (UG)
• Next, choose the Scheme Type (NEP-stream, for example). NEP stands for New Education Policy.
• Click “proceed” after filling out all the information, then select the subjects and further details to finish the application process.
• Additionally, print off the completed form.

What happens after the UG Admission Application Form for SAMRATH?

After submitting the UG Admission Application Form for SAMRATH, students can monitor the status of their applications on the Samarth portal dashboard. Candidates have the option to apply to up to ten universities of their choice. Admissions to undergraduate programs such as BSc, BCom, and BA are based on merit. As a result, each university will publish the merit list of selected candidates on the official Samarth website.
