Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Admission 2025-26
Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya is an ambitious initiative by the Govt. of Odisha to provide quality education as per CBSE curriculum to rural talents of Odisha at no cost/ nominal cost. Till now 314 OAVs are functional in 313 blocks of the state. Phase wise establishment of OAVs is as given at Table 1. It started with by establishing 100 OAVs in 100 blocks from the academic year 2016-17.
All OAVs are CBSE affiliated Vidyalayas. The entry level is Class VI and it has been planned to make these institutions as centers of excellence with provision of education up to Class XII. Students are admitted in Class VI and in Class VII/ VIII/ IX under lateral entry by appearing through a common entrance examination.

Details of OAVS Entrance Test 2025
The details of the entrance test are given in the table below.
- I. Examination will be conducted at the Venue as released and notified by B.S.E.to the students.
- II. The entrance test would consist of one paper with multiple choice questions.
- III. There will be no negative marking.
- IV. Duration of Examination, language of Question paper, subject to be asked at examination, mark assigned to each subject, no. of questions and total mark with regard to OAVET is as mentioned at TABLE 3.
- V. The Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Entrance Test – 2025 will be conducted at centre selected by the BSE Odisha, Cuttack. Appointment orders to the centre superintendents shall be by issued by BSE Odisha who will remain in charge of the conduct of examination. BSE Odisha shall prepare Descriptive Roll (DR) OAV wise and upload of admit of registered candidates for appearing at OAVET – 2025. Candidates shall download their respective admit cards for appearing at OAVET – 2025. The BSE Odisha shall engage squads at differentlevel to monitor the conduct of entrance examination. Detail guidelines for conduct of OAVET shall be sent to the examination centre by BSE Odisha, Cuttack. Soon after the examination is over, the superintendent shall seal the OMR answer sheets and other examination materials as instructed by BSE Odisha and handover all materials to the board members.
- VI. The BSE Odisha shall send instruction manual for invigilation work during the examination.

Application Criteria
- Students can apply for taking admission in only one OAV and for only one Class for a given academic year as applicable.
- A student is eligible to apply for admission in an OAV corresponding to his/ her native residential block only.
- If desired Class is not present in OAV of the native block of the student, then he/she can apply for any OAV of the concerned district at which desiredclass is present subject to existing vacancy.
- If desired class is present without any vacancy in OAV of the native block of the student, then he/ she is not eligible for applying for any OAV of the concerned District/ state at which desired class is present with existing vacancy.
- Students already continuing their study in any Class and in any OAV are not eligible to apply.
- The Child belonging to the respective block but continuing his/ her academic class as applicable in a school of any block other than the native block is eligible to apply, provided he/ she has to produce the residential certificate.
- Wards of serving State Govt./ State PSU employees can apply for OAV of their native block or for one of the OAV of block at which their parents (mother/ father) currently employed.
Eligibility Criteria For Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Admission 2025-26
- State Residency: Only students who are permanent residents of Odisha are eligible for admission to Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs).
- Class VI Admission: Students seeking admission to Class VI for the 2025-26 academic session should either be currently in or have completed Class V, or be continuing Class VI in the 2024-25 session. Candidates must be at least 10 years old but not older than 12 years as of March 31, 2025.
- Class VII Admission: Students applying for Class VII should be currently studying in or have completed Class VI during the 2024-25 session. They should be at least 11 years old but no older than 13 years by March 31, 2025.

Admission Procedure for Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs)
- Admission to Class VI: Admission to Class VI across the 314 established Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs) will be based on performance in the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Entrance Test (OAVET), organized at designated exam centers selected by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha (B.S.E. Odisha), Cuttack.
- Admission to Classes VII, VIII, and IX: Admission to Classes VII, VIII, and IX will be conducted through lateral entry, depending on the availability of vacancies. The list of vacancies as of 25.09.2024 is provided in Annexure – C.
- Advertisement and Application Process: The B.S.E. Odisha will issue an advertisement announcing the admissions process and invite applications from eligible candidates for Class VI, as well as for lateral entry to Classes VII, VIII, and IX in OAVs.
- Online Application Process: Candidates are required to submit their applications online, following the guidelines set forth in the advertisement. If assistance is needed, applicants can download the online form, fill it out, and submit it to the Principal of the chosen OAV. The Principal will then upload the details of all submitted applications to the B.S.E. Odisha online portal within the specified time frame.
